Senior Care Worker

Purpose of Position
The purpose of the position is to provide additional support to the Team Leader/Care Manager aiding to the day to day running of service delivery.
Hours: 37.5 hrs Full Time/Permanent (Set pattern of work) £12.80 per hour
Principal Responsibilities
- Work to policies and procedures and current regulations.
- Support with the on call duties on a rota basis.
- Support with co-ordination where required.
- Regularly update team leader/care manager providing reports when necessary.
- Attend meetings/ reviews as and when required.
- Manage the collection and distribution of folders.
- Shadow new employees.
- Highlight any areas for improvement i.e. staff training, knowledge and competency etc.
- Complete records/documents where required.
- Ensure all medication records are up to date and accurate.
- Maintaining accurate electronic and manual documentation.
- Monitor and manage the ordering of incontinence aids, medications etc and to update relevant records.
- Liaise with other health care professionals in an appropriate and professional manner.
- Assist with the physical care of service users where required.
Person Specification – Essential Criteria
- Have an excellent level of written and spoken communication in English.
- Must be a driver with own use of vehicle.
- Must be conversant with Microsoft office packages and emails.
- Must be able to work well within a team environment and be professional at all times.
- Have experience in the care sector – a minimum of 12 months.
- To be able to organise and time manage effectively.
- Be reliable and flexible.
- Have a high attention to detail.
- Work on your own initiative.
- To have good mentorship skills.
- Minimum Level 2 in Health and Social care and/ or working towards level 3 (or willing to)
- Be able to deal with emergencies and difficult situations whilst displaying empathy, understanding and respect.
- Right to Work in the UK
- Valid Enhanced DBS
- Be able to demonstrate basic life skills such as cooking, cleaning, shopping etc
